Dust Devil Mine Oregon Sunstone

Calling All Rock Hounds

Beginning Memorial Day (weather permitting), the Dust Devil Mine will be open for fee digging. Dust Devil Mining Company is Oregon’s premier Sunstone Fee-Digging venue where visitors can prospect virgin ground that has been opened with our heavy equipment. Visitors are never limited to digging tailings or material that has already been high-graded.

Stones from 100 to 300+ carats have come from this pit. The mine is known for its exceptionally large stones, as well as sunstones varying in color from red/green bicolor, watermelon, dichroic, and color-change stones. The new ore that can be screened for a fee is the same ore that we are processing. It has not been high-graded.

Visitors to the Dust Devil Mine enjoy a friendly, family-oriented environment. Visitors who are in camp at supper time are usually invited to stay for the evening meal.
